Hi there ! it’s been a long time since last update. A lot has happened and I try my best to update this blog as much as possible. Here is something what I did to WEDS Kranze LXZ wheels.
At the beginning they were pretty rough condition.
As you can see the chrome at the wheels were pretty rough condition. Also lips were wrong width so I needed a new fresh lips and chrome had to go…
I send the centers to Loimaan kromaus, which is a Finnish company who makes chrome plating. They removed the chrome from the centers as well as the copper coating on the surface.
When I got those back I sended the centers with p500 and primed those with epoxy primer. After primer was cured it was time to spray nice fresh coat of matt SEM Hodrod smoke.
The barrels were ok condition, so just careful cleaning and sanding was enough for them. Barrels painted with powder to silver.
At this point, it was easy to test whether I leave the lips polished or brush them. Brushed looked better so …
I brushed lips to p180 roughness and primed before clear with Mipa aluminum adhesion. Then sprayed 2 coats of matte clear.
